What is Health and Safety in a Construction Environment (CSCS)
The Health & Safety in Construction Awareness Course is designed for people working in or wanting to start work in, the construction industry. The course is required for your Green Labourers CSCS card. It will give you the knowledge to undertake your job safely. The course is a pre-requirement for all CSCS cardholders both new and renewing. We have been running a range of construction and CSCS courses in Cornwall for a number of years with experienced trainers from industry.
What will I learn?
The Health & Safety in a Construction Environment course will cover common hazards and risks in a construction environment, safe manual handling practices, working safely at height and working safely around plant and machinery. It also covers the importance of effective teamwork and communication in ensuring safe working practices are followed in the construction industry.
The course is taught on a face to face basis at our training centre in St Austell. If you have a group we may be able to come to you. Call to discuss your requirements.
What follows the course to get your CSCS Card?
Once you have completed the course, you will need to complete the CITB Operatives Health, Safety and Environment knowledge touch test. When passed this will allow you to apply for the CSCS Labourer’s Card.

The price includes all equipment, Registration and Certification, refreshments throughout the course, and course manuals to keep.
Green Labourers CSCS card
To get a green CSCS card, you need to have completed a one day approved by CITB Health & Safety course. This can be done at our training centre in St Austell, and complete the touch screen test (in Truro or Penzance). Once you have done this, you can apply for your green card with the CITB over the phone.
