What is Health and Safety in a Construction Environment (CSCS)?
The Health & Safety in Construction Awareness Course is designed for people working in or wanting to start work in, the construction industry. The course is required for your Green Labourers CSCS card and will give you the knowledge to undertake your job safely. During the 1-day intensive course, you’ll cover many of the essential aspects of an introduction to health and safety.

What will I learn during the Level 1 Health & Safety course?
The Health & Safety in a Construction Environment course will cover common hazards and risks in a construction environment, safe manual handling practices, working safely at height and working safely around plant and machinery. It also covers the importance of effective teamwork and communication in ensuring safe working practices are followed in the construction industry.
The course is taught on a face to face basis at our training centre in St Austell however, if you have a group, we may be able to tailor our course and come to you. Call us today to discuss your requirements.
What follows the course to get your CSCS Card?
Once you have completed the course, you will need to complete the CITB Operatives Health, Safety and Environment knowledge touch test. When passed this will allow you to apply for the CSCS Labourer’s Card.

The price of our high-quality training courses includes all training materials and delivery, equipment registration and certification, refreshments throughout the course and a course manual which participants can keep.
Getting your Green Labourers CSCS card
To get a green CSCS card, you need to have completed this course. You will then also need to go to the CITB Test centre (in Truro, Penzance or Plymouth) and complete the touch screen test. Once you have done this, you can apply for your green card with the CITB over the phone or online.
