STCW Medical Care on Board
The STCW Medical Care on Board Course is intended for seafarers undertaking their Chief Mates Certificate of Competence and others who are designated to take charge of Medical Care on-board Ship, in accordance with Regulation V1/4 of the annex STCW Convention Section A-V1/4 (4-6)
What is involved on the course?
The STCW Medical Care on Board Course is for 5 days and will provide both a practical and theoretical mixture of training including:
- Care of the casualty
- Aspects of Nursing
- Alcohol and drug abuse
- Dental Care
- Gynaecology, pregnancy and childbirth
- Medical care of rescued persons
- Death at sea
- Disease prevention
- Record keeping
- Medications Carried on Board
When you have completed the course successfully you will be issued with an STCW Medical Care on Board Certificate.
To be able to take part on the course you MUST be aged 16 or over and hold a Proficiency in Medical First Aid On Board certificate, or a Proficiency in Medical Care On Board certificate or its update.
What’s included in the price?
The price includes all equipment, Registration and Certification, refreshments throughout the course and course manual to keep.
The course can be delivered at our training centre in St Austell. If you have a suitable area, we can also deliver at your premises. This would reduce training costs with no travel costs for your employees.
