GIG First Aid Kit

These GIG first aid kits have been developed to give rowers the emergency equipment needed whilst out rowing.

The GIG kit contains a waterproof 5L dry bag, all the quality equipment you need for a minor injury aboard. These kits are designed to be efficient in equipment and contents and keep items to a minimum.

The kit holds First aid items, a CPR mask, trauma dressing and exposure items.

Because they are small and compact, they can be tucked away until needed, and their light weight will affect the boat’s weight.

The Cornish Pilot GIG Association has worked with Cornwall Training following the Health & Safety Review with rowers when afloat. The review highlighted that most GIG’s did not carry any First Aid equipment in the event of an emergency.

We have also developed a GIG Safety Kit, which includes additional safety items like a  VHF Radio and LED flare.
