Objective

The objective of the qualification is to give Learners an understanding of the principles and purpose of preventing and controlling infection, and how this can impact on the Learner’s role and their organisation.

Purpose

The purpose of this QA Level 2 Award in the Principles of Infection Prevention and Control (RQF) is for the
Learner to develop the skills and knowledge of infection prevention and control.

Intended audience

This qualification is for those whose role in the workplace requires them to prevent and control infection; e.g. within the NHS or other healthcare environments.
